Client Background:

Our Client is a leading Industrial Automation and Electronic Manufacturing company based in India. It is renowned globally for providing high-quality, cost-effective solutions for various factory automation applications. 

Requirements:

Our Client wanted to upgrade its device from Linux Krogoth 2.1 to Linux Yocto 4.0 (Kirkstone) version. The upgrade was aimed to enhance security measures, protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities associated with older versions, and leverage the latest software package for an improved system for system performance and hardware compatibility. Mostly the upgrade included support for Google Chromium version 90 ensuring optimal experience. The client sought to modernize its existing bus gateway by incorporating more memory, RAM, and a faster CPU while ensuring compatibility with the current mechanical casing. 

Project Process:

As a trusted partner in electronics design and production services assigned a dedicated team of three experts to execute the BSP (Board Support Package) upgrade project for our client. A project leader was assigned who was responsible for project coordination and serving as the primary point of contact for our client team. A team of two software developers who were engaged in peripheral bring-up, OS customization, QA/QC testing, and other software-related tasks for Linux Yocto 4.0.

Deliverables:

Trunexa successfully delivered the upgraded BSP, including a working eflasher image for the specified OS and source code. Additionally we also comprehensive documentation was provided to the client, comprising:

1. User and Installation Manual

2. Software integration description (HW interfaces)

3. Description and source code for developed hardware drivers
